emcc only runs Binaryen at link -O2+ (link.py: should_run_binaryen_optimizer
returns OPT_LEVEL >= 2) and we link at -O1, so the shipped module had never seen
wasm-opt at all — it kept its entire 19.56 MB name section, ~20% of the editor
(-sJSPI sets ASYNCIFY=2, which suppresses wasm-ld's --strip-debug, leaving
wasm-opt as the only thing that would drop it). Step 8.2 runs it post-link and
in-container, so CI's cached compile phase covers it and the host post-process
stays pure-host.
Default -O2, picked by measuring every level on the same module: -O0 already
captures 27% of the raw win (it is mostly the name section), -O2 costs 23 s and
gives the best frame rate, and -O3/-O4/-Os/-Oz cost 48-132 s for at most 1.5%
more brotli — -O4 is not even smaller than -O3. Targets that already link -O2/-Oz
(occ_service, kicad_tools) are skipped by testing for the target_features
section, which emcc strips whenever it ran the optimizer itself, so there is no
hard-coded target list to drift. Feature flags come from the module's own
target_features section and so cannot diverge from the link.
The perf specs reported requestAnimationFrame ticks as "FPS". That is not a frame
rate: rAF fires on the compositor's schedule whether or not the GAL redrew, and
it read 120/s on a board where the renderer completed zero frames in six seconds.
measureInteractionFps now counts completed GAL frames — runs of draws to the
default framebuffer, exactly one per frame in every AA mode — and drives a pure
middle-drag pan after a zoom-to-fit. Mixing wheel zoom into the drive made the
result depend on where the wheel left the view: +-20% across identical repeats,
against +-2% for pan alone. The report gains a GAL fps column with a regression
flag on the 1x number; rAF is kept so historical runs stay comparable.
CI has no GPU, so its number is a software-rasteriser redraw rate — a regression
signal, not a user-facing frame rate. Method and measurements in the bench report.

The runtime is JSPI-only; this removes everything that still pretended
otherwise. Three exhaustive sweeps (C++/JS+build+CI/tests+docs) drove
the inventory; every deletion verified by grep closure + full gates.
Broken-right-now fixes:
- deploy-staging.yml passed the retired opt_level input — the workflow
could not even start. Removed.
- env.sh carried dead exports with a live -sASYNCIFY=1 inside
(WASM_LDFLAGS/PTHREAD_LDFLAGS, zero consumers). Removed; the
WASM_LEGACY_EXCEPTIONS rationale rewritten to the real reason.
- docker/build.sh exported PCBJAM_ASYNC_BACKEND (read nowhere). Gone.
Dead weight removed:
- binaryen submodule (nothing builds or invokes it), wasm-opt-bench
workflow + scripts/bench/, get-wasm-opt.sh, diagnostics.js (242 lines
of Asyncify-API-only code), the KICAD_PIPELINE background-postprocess
scaffolding (existed to parallelize the deleted wasm-opt phase; the
postprocess is a seconds-long node script and now runs inline),
build-monitor's dead asyncify rows, sched-context orphan build
output, dead .gitignore entries, the .jspi-assets spike dir (the two
wf-result research JSONs moved to docs/features/async/migration-evidence/).
- bindings: fiber_park.h + its 12 embind registrations (broken-if-
called under JSPI), the kicadOpenFileStart/OPEN_JOB starter route,
main_stack_runner.h + 5 includes, the always-null context-sleep weak
hook in nanosleep_yield.c.
- shim: the backend field (installed-flag idempotency instead),
noteContextWait (dead both sides), the __wxAsyncifyDump alias (+ the
WasmTool fallback and string-dump normalize branch).
- web: the emscripten-6-ignored mainScriptUrlOrBlob option in boot.ts
(gerber-demo keeps it: it loads the deployed CDN release, which
predates emscripten 6 — noted inline).
Conditionals: all 'backend === jspi' checks reduced to scheduler-
presence checks; races_quiescent re-keyed from Asyncify.state (vacuous)
to real backlog quiescence (resumeReady/mutatorQueue — NOT _windowLive,
which is the probing activation's own window by definition).
Renames (identifiers only, no file renames): ASYNC_LINK_FLAGS→
JSPI_LINK_FLAGS and Makefile ASYNC_LDFLAGS→JSPI_LDFLAGS,
kicadCollabFiberBusy→kicadCollabBusy (embind + web + tests),
collab_common.h fiber*→apply*/coroutine naming, asyncifySignatures→
wasmTrapSignatures (lists byte-identical).
Tests: the two remaining vacuous [wx-asyncify]/fiber-resume-refused
asserts re-keyed to live JSPI beacons; eeschema-load's failure message
no longer sends the developer to a deleted script; wait-beacons' dead
families/parser deleted; lane-0 legacy-glue guards removed (lane 0 is
unconstructible); the embind test.fail re-gated with the JSPI reason
(plain embind invokers cannot suspend — verified still failing);
lint-determinism now scans tests/jspi (166 files clean);
eeschema-collab local-move gated to chromium (~50% flaky on FF even
solo; pcbnew twin covers both engines).
Docs: DEBUG.md rewritten as the JSPI debugging guide; build.md
describes the single-phase build; docs/features/async/README.md
banner-marked historical and repointed at the NEW
23-jspi-runtime.md (current architecture: export census, turnstile,
libcontext ownership + refusal contract, embind call shapes, the
em-pthread service-wrapper trick, exception policy, known gaps).
Gates on the cleaned tree: test:e2e 725 passed / 0 failed (after the
quiescence-probe fix; the 3 other reds were verified contention flakes
solo-green or the documented FF gate), web 76/0, jspi 18/18 both
engines, vitest 295/295 + 17/17, all lints green, live-app census
clean.

Phase 8 in the parent repo. Deleted: asyncify-scheduler.js, apply-asyncify.sh,
apply-finalize.sh, inject-dyncall-shims.sh, asyncify-imports/removelist.txt,
the wasm-opt/finalize stub pair, scripts/binaryen-hoist-pass/ (the fork stays
a dormant submodule; removal is a follow-up), bench/wasm-opt-bench.sh (README
marked historical), wasm/shims/context_sleep.cpp, and the sched-context
harness app + Makefile targets.
PCBJAM_ASYNC_BACKEND is gone: build-wx-wasm.sh hardcodes the jspi stamp
(still force-cleans pre-migration trees), build-kicad-target.sh gives editors
the JSPI link surface and the CLIs nothing (they pin ASYNCIFY=0), the stub
dance is replaced by an unconditional .real-restore, build-wasm-test.sh lost
its whole post-link loop, docker/build.sh's postprocess is the ENV shim only,
and Makefile.wasm links every app JSPI with the scheduler shim as a tracked
prerequisite. pcbjam_async_policy.h keys on __EMSCRIPTEN__.
jspi-scheduler.js: wxWasmMainLoopPump dropped from the wrap census (the
export died with the D5 detach); inert [TRACE] instrumentation removed.
CI: wasm-build.yml rewritten for the single-cache pipeline (one output cache
keyed on compile inputs; post-processed bytes cached after the shim);
opt_level input removed from both callers. wasm-cache-hash.mjs inputs now
cover patch-env-shim.mjs + jspi-scheduler.js + jspi-exports.txt.

wasm/shims/context_sleep.cpp: a main-thread nanosleep whose frame stands on a
scheduler context that OWNS the stack arms a mailbox wake and yield_parks that
context instead of suspending the stack in place. It lives in the sleep
primitive rather than in tool_manager.cpp on purpose - KiCad and the wx core
stay untouched (CLAUDE.md's fork rule) and the whole K7 class moves at once,
not just TOOL_MANAGER::RunSynchronousAction's spin loop.
MEASURED AT D-ON, and it is NOT what unblocks Phase D. The four canvas-tool
specs still fail, but the trace now names a different cause: the fatal swap is
old=<libcontext ROOT> new=<tool coroutine> with mouseEventHandlerFunc above it
- a DOM mouse handler entering wasm DIRECTLY on the main stack, bypassing the
tick. So one coroutine is entered two ways: by the tick through the dispatch
context as a STAR TRANSFER, and by DOM handlers as a DIRECT SYMMETRIC SWAP. A
capture written by one path cannot be rewound by the other -> index out of
bounds in doRewind. That is section 7 rule 5 (partial migration is worse than
none) in its purest measured form, and it is why the harness stays green: its
coroutines are only ever entered from one place.
So the next increment is the DOM event entries (mouse/key/wheel/resize must
hand their events to the dispatch context as the tick does), not another park
site. It subsumes the one-root work too: with no dispatch on the main stack,
resolve_root_identity() always answers "the running context".
Landing state: STAR_DISPATCH=0, kicad 139 passed / 1 (pre-existing occ-probe)
= baseline, with the sleep shim in and inert.

New wasm/cli/sym_convert_stubs.cpp: first-definition-wins overrides
(--allow-multiple-definition) severing schematic load/save, the KIFONT
factory (drops newstroke + freetype/harfbuzz), and the four UI virtuals
whose bodies reference pruned typeinfo/data. New
wasm/bindings/sym_convert_embind.cpp: no-op kicadCollabOnSave so the
converter stops linking eeschema's embind object (and --bind) that rooted
the editor surface from .init_array. build-kicad-target.sh: per-app
EMBIND_LINK_FLAG + sym_convert now uses its own embind TU. Bumps kicad
(kiface prune, gated). Output byte-identical on the qa corpus.

- gl1_glu: gluCylinder/gluDisk/gluSphere per the SGI GLU reference
tessellation (sin/cos phase, strip emission order, pole fans — Apple's
GLU derives from the same source, so vertices match the goldens);
emission goes through the public glBegin/glVertex entry points so
quadrics record into display lists
- glLineWidth>1 one-time warning (browsers clamp to 1; affected coverage
stays under the parity floor — zero floors.json overrides needed)
- production link site: build-kicad-target.sh now compiles wasm/gl1 from
sources.txt and applies wrapped_symbols.txt --wrap flags (same manifests
as the test harness); kicad_editor's RENDER_3D_OPENGL links against the
real emulation layer instead of no-ops

Parity: 47/47 under the 0.02 floor, zero overrides. Native golden path
byte-identical to bb0e238 (whose gate ran green) — scenarios/, native/,
baseline/, manifest, floors, spec all untouched by the port.

Move OpenCASCADE out of the merged editor image into occ_service: a separate
emscripten module (-sASYNCIFY=0, MODULARIZE, in-container -Oz finalize, 2N+8
pre-warmed pthread pool) booted lazily in a dedicated Web Worker on the first
STEP export or STEP/IGES model parse. kicad_editor.wasm ~190 MB -> 130 MB;
sessions that never touch OCC never fetch its 57 MB. STEP export works in the
browser for the first time: the unchanged desktop dialog runs EXPORTER_STEP,
whose wasm shadow suspends into globalThis.occService and the export bytes go
straight to a browser download (never entering the editor heap). STEP/IGES 3D
models parse in the worker via the oce shadow (S3D WriteCache/ReadCache wire).
- wasm/occ-service/: service CMake target (hooked from the kicad fork's
top-level CMakeLists, wasm/editor pattern), embind entry
(occExport/occLoadModel), wxConfig pre-js.
- wasm/stubs/{exporter_step,oce_plugin}_stub.cpp: EM_ASYNC_JS worker bridges
(callee-shadowing; no caller #ifdefs).
- web/standalone: provider installed whenever the kicad_editor bundle boots
(cross-face safe); ONE shared worker-boot source occ-worker.js (vite ?raw;
the e2e stub reads the same file) — blob worker with locateFile absolutized
against the glue URL; export download-name guard.
- deps: OCC builds with RapidJSON so its glTF/GLB writer exists — pinned to
the vcpkg master snapshot 2025-02-26 (24b5e7a8b27f), the same code official
KiCad consumes via vcpkg.json's opencascade[rapidjson]; rapidjson's latest
tag (v1.1.0, 2016) is ill-formed under modern clang.
- tests: occ-export dialog e2e (lazy-fetch boundary + STEP download bytes),
occ-probe incl. a 9-format matrix (step/stpz/brep/xao/ply/stl/glb/u3d/pdf),
3d-viewer-models hard-asserts the worker parse; occ provider stub installed
ambiently by the kicad fixtures.
Validated against desktop kicad-cli 10.0.4: geometric exact equality (bbox
delta 0 um, volume delta 0.0000%) for STEP/GLB/STL/BREP/STPZ across three
boards and option sweeps — with desktop OCC 7.9 vs wasm OCC 7.8; PLY/XAO/PDF
structurally equal; U3D same-size (quantizer float LSBs differ). Full kicad
e2e green on Firefox and Chromium; standalone verified end to end (lazy fetch
only on the Export click; export.step 60,628 B ISO-10303-21; loadModel 700 KB
STEP -> 569 KB scenegraph cache).

All four editors (PCB / Footprint / Schematic / Symbol) are now runtime --frame
choices of a single kicad_editor.wasm (178 MB at -O1 vs 147+82 separate; shared
wx/common/boost linked once). One editor per page load, as before; frames pcb /
fpedit / sch / symedit.
- wasm/editor/: the merged executable target (single_top + both kiface library sets,
whole-archive pcbcommon) + the safety-net focus-walk Kiface() dispatch TU. Gated by
KICAD_WASM_MERGED_EDITOR (kicad submodule bump carries the fork side: per-engine
Kiface/getter binding + ODR renames + dual-kiface launcher).
- wasm/bindings/: per-editor collab entries renamed pcbCollab*/schCollab* (JS names
unchanged); duplicate kicadOpenFile/kicadCollabOnSave + shared-name registrations
guarded behind KICAD_MERGED_EMBIND; new kicad_editor_embind.cpp registers each
shared JS name once, dispatching on the live frame.
- Build: kicad_editor app (build wrapper, target case arms, 3-object embind compile
with the ABI-critical flags, STUB_APP=pcbnew); docker/build.sh "all" =
kicad_editor calculator pl_editor gerbview (pcbnew/eeschema stay as explicit debug
apps); scripts/kicad/audit-merged-symbols.sh = repeatable ODR-collision audit (run
on kicad bumps).
- Frontend: Bundle type (bundle ≠ tool); TOOL_BUNDLE maps all four editors to
kicad_editor; explicit --frame tokens for pcbnew (pcb) and eeschema (sch); publish
list = the 4 real bundles.
- Tests/CI: five harnesses load kicad_editor.js with explicit frame tokens;
PCBNEW_FAMILY_SPECS renamed BIG_MODULE_SPECS + the 8 eeschema-family specs (they
now boot the merged module — SpiderMonkey x86 CI OOM routing); frame-runtime spec
covers all four frames from the one bundle.
Validated so far: frame-runtime 4/4 (each frame boots with the right title, no
aborts, no duplicate embind registration); 24-spec merged-module regression green;
3D raytracer renders. Known pre-existing failure: 3d-viewer title-bar drag deadlock,
fixed on main by 7630c7e (2N+8 pthread pre-warm) — picked up by the follow-up rebase.

The footprint and symbol editors are no longer separate WASM bundles: the frontend loads the parent pcbnew/eeschema bundle and passes --frame=fpedit / --frame=symedit (TOOL_BUNDLE + TOOL_FRAME -> Module.arguments in boot). Drops the two duplicate build+deploy targets and their wrapper scripts + vestigial embind; adds low-level harnesses (footprint_editor.html, symbol_editor.html) and a runtime-frame spec. Bumps the kicad submodule to the runtime --frame launcher.
The frame-runtime spec is listed in PCBNEW_FAMILY_SPECS so CI routes it to the chromium-ci (V8) project — its footprint case boots the pcbnew module, which OOMs SpiderMonkey on x86 CI. Includes the editor-unification dossier (research docs 01-04 + the as-built implementation record 05).

Bumps the kicad submodule to the threading revert (the 3D-viewer raytracer's
WASM single-threaded #ifdef fallbacks + the bs_thread_pool inline shim are gone;
those four files are now byte-identical to upstream KiCad).
Links wasm/shims/nanosleep_yield.c into every app (mirrors the gl_ffp_stub
pattern): the now-upstream raw-thread raytracer joins via a main-thread
sleep_for busy-wait, and this shim makes that nanosleep Asyncify-yield to the JS
event loop instead of deadlocking on on-demand pthread-Worker creation. Its
EM_ASYNC_JS yield is already covered by env.__asyncjs__* in asyncify-imports.txt.
This is what lets upstream's multi-threaded code run on WASM under native-EH.
Also documents isolated-worktree + submodule-branch creation in the README.
Result: ~11x faster 3D raytrace (21.3s -> 1.9s, 16 threads), pixel-correct
render, full kicad e2e green (63 passed / 0 failed).

Replace the legacy Emscripten JS-exceptions model with native wasm-EH (legacy
encoding) across the whole build, keeping Asyncify coroutines working via a
from-source Binaryen --hoist-cpp-catches pre-pass. Net result: native-EH is the
only build mode, the 3D viewer is on by default, and pcbnew shrinks substantially.
Highlights:
- Binaryen submodule everywhere + --hoist-cpp-catches integration in apply-asyncify;
post-link Asyncify covers every app wasm (not just standalone test wasm).
- Build deps (incl. OpenCASCADE without OCC_CONVERT_SIGNALS) and all KiCad apps
with -fwasm-exceptions; emscripten_sleep added to the post-link asyncify-imports.
- libcontext fiber entry wired under native exceptions; while-loop main loop +
currData shim injected into all wx apps.
- Native-EH collab apply fixed: DEBUG-define the embind TU + match all out-of-CMake
C++ TUs' ABI flags to the core, fixing the vtable-layout skew / mis-dispatch.
- 3D viewer enabled by default (real raytracer linked, not the stub).
- Retire the EH-spike scaffolding; flip the asyncify-races ablation pins to
shim-redundancy pins (native-EH stays clean with the legacy shims ablated).
- Fix the asyncify-races quiescence check to not require Asyncify.currData==0:
under the native-EH per-frame-yield top loop the main stack is asyncify-suspended
every frame, so currData legitimately churns (a freed-but-not-yet-nulled buffer,
not a leak). Refresh the pcbnew toolbar screenshot baseline for the new kicad.
- CI: drop the obsolete binaryen_version input/env (the build uses the binaryen
submodule fork's wasm-opt, not a version download); key the wasm-output cache on
the binaryen submodule SHA instead.
Bumps the wxwidgets + binaryen submodules to their squashed feature commits.
Validated green: all 7 apps native-EH (real 3D in pcbnew); KiCad e2e 63/63
Firefox + Chromium (3D viewer renders); wx 336; coroutine 34/34 both engines;
asyncify 7/7 both engines.

divergence instead of 0
- build-kicad-target.sh: drop dead -DKICAD_PCM and -DBUILD_GITHUB_PLUGIN
flags (not options in this KiCad version); keep -DKICAD_SPICE=OFF, which is

Builds KiCad's 3D viewer for the browser (opt in with BUILD_3D_VIEWER=ON) and
wires up the legacy-GL emulation it needs.
- build-kicad-target.sh / docker/build.sh: BUILD_3D_VIEWER →
-DKICAD_BUILD_3D_VIEWER_WASM=ON + -sLEGACY_GL_EMULATION + the GL js-library.
- wasm/shims/gl_immediate_shim.js: display-list emulation (record/replay board
layers), fixed-function + GLU stubs, throw-guards for unsupported pnames, and
per-context GLImmediate init for the viewer's SECOND WebGL context.
- tests/kicad/3d-viewer.spec.ts + utils/pcbnew-ready.ts: open View → 3D Viewer.
- bumps the kicad submodule (EMSCRIPTEN-guarded GL changes).
WIP: the viewer window + UI render and geometry draws (glError=0x0), but the
board is not yet visibly rendered — GLImmediate's FFP shader program isn't
linked on the viewer's 2nd WebGL context. Full status + next steps in

Headless node-WASM CLI that converts legacy symbol libraries to .kicad_sym via

The canvas (wxUniversal) mode is gone (wxwidgets submodule); remove every
piece of side-by-side plumbing so there is exactly one build and one test
flow:
- scripts/build-wxuniversal-wasm.sh -> scripts/build-wx-wasm.sh; no
--dom/--enable-universal; builds into build-wasm/wxwidgets
- build-wasm-test.sh: no DOM_BUILD / apps-dom rsync mirror / PORT=dom;
apps build straight into tests/apps (Makefile.wasm PORT conditionals
collapsed; wx.js + wx-dom.js always pre-js)
- docker/build.sh, build-kicad-target.sh, env.sh: WX_PORT / -dom /
-universal suffixes removed; kicad builds to kicad-<app>, outputs to
output/; wx.js/wx-dom.js copied from the real source path
(/workspace/wxwidgets/build/wasm — the old build-wasm path never
existed and silently failed)
- setup-kicad-wasm.sh: single target dir; the perl wx-dom.js injection is
gone — the 7 checked-in kicad pages now reference wx-dom.js directly
- playwright configs serve apps/; fixtures drop the test-results/dom and
logs/wxwidgets/dom namespacing; boot.spec asserts wxDomPort
unconditionally; pcbnew.spec uses one reference image;
appearance.spec assertions unconditional
- compare/update-baseline-screenshots.sh: --port removed
- tests/gal-regression/wasm/Makefile: links build-wasm/wxwidgets and
carries wx-dom.js as a second pre-js — the gal-webgl suite (30 specs)
now actually builds and runs here (it needed host-side boost+glm via
scripts/deps; the bundle had been missing, timing the whole spec out)
- tests: clickCanvas() dispatches via page.mouse (DOM widgets
legitimately cover the canvas; locator actionability refused the
click); the comprehensive spec drives wxChoice through its native
<select> (browser-owned popup cannot be coordinate-clicked)
- docs: README/CLAUDE.md/build.md script names and dirs;
features/wx-dom-port README reframed (DOM is THE port), visual-notes
bugs 26-28; FindwxWidgets.cmake config label drops 'wasmuniv'
- wxwidgets submodule -> 9dbacc9448 (DOM-only port, fork diff shrunk)
Gate: full wx e2e suite 292 passed / 1 skipped / 0 failed — first run
ever with the gal-webgl specs green (28 scenarios + load + sequential).

Pipeline: lexer generation (pcbcommon) ordered before the embind
pre-compile — a fresh-build-tree chicken-and-egg any new volume would
hit (generated pcb_lexer.h was included via -I${KICAD_BUILD}/common
before anything generated it). DOM flavor outputs flow through the
host-mounted output/dom/. pcbnew e2e on DOM: editor loads fully (layer
manager, toolbars, WebGL viewport, registry metrics), draw-lines test
passes; the header pixel-reference assertion fails as expected (native
DOM styling vs univ pixels) — port-aware references pending.

WX_PORT=dom flows host → docker container → build scripts:
build-kicad-target.sh selects wxwidgets-dom + kicad-<app>-dom trees;
docker/build.sh passes the env through, copies outputs to output-dom/
incl. wx-dom.js, and post-processes there; build-wxuniversal-wasm.sh
honors WX_PORT and accepts --no-clean again (the kicad pipeline calls it
with that flag — Phase 1's stricter parser had broken the canvas docker
path). setup-kicad-wasm.sh syncs DOM bundles into tests/apps-dom/kicad
and injects the wx-dom.js script tag into the kicad pages;
playwright-kicad.config.ts serves apps-dom under WX_PORT=dom.

pcbnew_embind.cpp pulls kicad_clipboard.h -> pcb_io_kicad_sexpr_parser.h ->
pcb_lexer.h, a header GENERATED during make (make_lexer custom command on the
pcbcommon target). The embind compile runs right after CMake configure, so on
a fresh build dir the header doesn't exist yet — the ephemeral Hetzner main CI
(run 27327303032) died on it in minutes. Local/incremental dirs already had the
header, which is why 9dbfddc's -I${KICAD_BUILD}/common alone seemed sufficient.
Pre-build pcbcommon before compiling the bindings: make resolves the real
dependency graph (no duplicated lexer-generator args), the app target needs
pcbcommon anyway so total build time is unchanged, and incrementally it's a
no-op. Verified by deleting pcb_lexer.h/pcb_keywords.cpp/pcbnew_embind.o inside
the docker build-cache volume and rebuilding: pre-build regenerates the header
before the embind compile succeeds.

Footprint add reconstructs from the bare `(footprint …)` s-expr clipboard blob via
CLIPBOARD_IO (SetWriter/SetReader redirect it to a string for headless/wasm). The
non-footprint `(kicad_pcb …)` envelope parse (parseBOARD) is asyncify-fragile in wasm
— commit.Add of an envelope-parsed item silently stages nothing and subsequent virtual
dispatch traps ("index out of bounds"), the same wall that deferred the eeschema symbol
blob — so vias and zones reconstruct NATIVELY instead: itemToJson emits drill/layer-pair
for a PCB_VIA and the outline polygon for a ZONE, and makeItem builds a fresh PCB_VIA /
ZONE. flushDiff attaches the blob only to types that need it (footprints/board graphics);
tracks/vias/zones skip it. Includes the dangling-parent fix for the envelope path
(SetParent before delete) which footprints don't hit.
Build: kicad_clipboard.h pulls in the generated pcb_lexer.h (emitted into the common
build subdir by make_lexer) — added -I${KICAD_BUILD}/common to the embind include path.
Tests: sample board gains a via + zone; snapshot asserts their native fields are emitted,
and three round-trip add tests (footprint via blob, via/zone native) delete then re-add
each by uuid and confirm it returns at the same position. 6 passed, 1 skipped, 0 aborts.

Thrust A — dialogs render top-left with OK clipped in the WEB app (not the
test harness): root cause was the React shell missing the .window /
.window-canvas CSS that wx.js relies on (it positions each dialog div via
inline left/top, which need position:absolute). Added the rules to
web/apps/frontend/src/index.css. Native draw-text now works end-to-end;
symbol/power choosers render (placing still blocked by absent libraries).
Thrust B — collab apply of a newly-added SCH_SHAPE trapped in KiCad core
(SCH_COMMIT::Push CHT_ADD -> GAL view->Add, an asyncify invoke_* mis-dispatch)
because doApply ran off a fiber stack. doApply now runs inside a COROUTINE so
it executes on a libcontext fiber, the same context native draws use; the add
dispatches correctly. Re-enabled the SCH_SHAPE converter (rect/circle). Added
thirdparty/libcontext to the embind include path (tool/coroutine.h needs it).
Verified two-tab: rectangle + circle drawn in tab A sync + render in tab B.
Extended eeschema-collab.spec.ts apply test with a SCH_SHAPE add.
All changes root-repo only; kicad and wxwidgets forks untouched.

eeschema's half of the Yjs collaborative bridge, reusing the generic reconciler /
BroadcastChannel transport unchanged. Zero kicad-fork change: native SCH_ITEM uuid +
native SCHEMATIC_LISTENER. All in the wasm layer (wasm/bindings/eeschema_embind.cpp).
Working (verified in the web app):
- kicadCollabSnapshot(): enumerate sch.Hierarchy() -> LastScreen()->Items() as
{id,type,x,y}; registers the listener on first call
- emit: SCHEMATIC_LISTENER subclass -> per-item delta via window.kicadCollab.onDelta;
fires on real SCH_COMMIT::Push (a real wire move broadcasts added/removed/changed)
Apply is a documented follow-up (gated off so a peer tab can't crash): SCH_ITEM::Move
traps with 'indirect call signature mismatch' when invoked outside a KiCad tool
coroutine (Asyncify+fiber+exception-trampoline). Modify/Clone/GetPosition all work;
only the virtual Move write traps. Fix direction: route apply through TOOL_MANAGER.
Also: build-kicad-target.sh now force-relinks when only <app>_embind.cpp changed (the
embind .o isn't a make dep, so new bindings silently vanished), and adds the
expected/rtree/fmt thirdparty includes the eeschema bindings need.
Tests: eeschema-collab.spec.ts covers snapshot (green); apply/two-tab skipped with the
blocker noted. WasmTool gates collab to pl_editor only until eeschema apply works.

Brings up KiCad's pagelayout_editor (drawing-sheet editor) in the
browser, to roughly the same "boots, canvas visible, partially usable
in-session" level as the existing pcbnew/eeschema/calculator ports.
Build:
- docker/build.sh: add pl_editor to the unified app dispatch (case,
subdir map, all-loop).
- scripts/kicad/build-kicad-target.sh: add pl_editor to the case;
upstream target name pl_editor under source subdir pagelayout_editor.
- scripts/kicad/build-pl_editor.sh: 7-line thin wrapper matching the
pcbnew/eeschema/calculator pattern.
- tests/scripts/setup-kicad-wasm.sh: copy_app pl_editor.
App glue:
- wasm/stubs/nl_pl_editor_plugin_stub.cpp: no-op SpaceMouse plugin so
pl_editor_frame.cpp's NL_PL_EDITOR_PLUGIN symbols resolve. Mirrors
nl_pcbnew_plugin_stub.cpp.
- tests/apps/kicad/pl_editor.html: browser shell. preRun creates
/home/kicad and FS.chdir there so file dialogs land somewhere
friendly instead of MEMFS root (/dev/, /proc/, etc.).
E2E coverage:
- tests/kicad/pl_editor.spec.ts: 5 tests — smoke (canvas, no abort),
wizard, File menu has Open/Save As, file-dialog folder-navigation
regression, canvas + toolbar metrics.
- tests/e2e/filedialog-folder-nav.spec.ts: wxWidgets-level twin of
the regression test (exercises the underlying widget directly via
the standalone filedialog_test app).
Submodule bumps:
- kicad → feature/pl-editor (WASM gating in pagelayout_editor's
CMakeLists + navlib stub).
- wxwidgets → feature/pl-editor (wxGenericFileDialog::OnOk navigates
into selected directories; wasm/mouse.cpp emits wxEVT_LEFT_DCLICK
via timestamp-based double-click detection — the latter benefits
every wxWidgets-WASM app).
See features/pl-editor/ for the design doc + per-repo diff patches.

Convert the calculator port (commit 0464470) from the parallel/copy-paste
pattern to the dispatch pattern used by pcbnew + eeschema.
- docker/build.sh: <app> is now required (no pcbnew default); missing,
unknown, and --help paths all print "pcbnew | eeschema | calculator | all".
Adds calculator to build_app() via kicad_subdir_for() (pcb_calculator
inner subdir, calculator.* output basename). Also fixes the
EMSDK=/emsdkkicad-wasm-builder typo that snuck in during the calc merge.
- scripts/kicad/build-kicad-target.sh: accepts calculator; introduces
KICAD_TARGET (pcb_calculator for calc, == APP_NAME otherwise) used for
the make target, embind include path, and final-log line.
- scripts/kicad/build-calculator.sh: 305-line copy of build-pcbnew.sh
collapsed to a 7-line wrapper around build-kicad-target.sh.
- tests/scripts/setup-kicad-wasm.sh: copy_app calculator added with the
same pcb_calculator subdir mapping for the docker-volume fallback path.
- tests/package.json: test:calculator* routed through the shared
playwright-kicad.config.ts kicad/calculator.spec.ts (mirrors eeschema).
- Delete: docker/build-calculator.sh, tests/scripts/setup-calculator-wasm.sh,
tests/playwright-calculator.config.ts.
Bumps wxwidgets d1d1627 -> 6fb2eac (origin/wasm-port). The new sha includes
"unic/combobox: add GetCurrentSelection() inline default" which calc's
kicad/pcb_calculator/widgets/unit_selector.cpp needs to compile. Without
this bump the unified dispatch would expose calc as a buildable target but
the build itself would fail. Verified: build.sh all completes clean across
all three apps; pcbnew/eeschema e2e pass; calc compiles and launches (test
stability separate from this refactor).

- build-pcbnew.sh: add --diag=<gal,coroutine,ctor,all> -> -DKICAD_DIAG_*,
off by default (forwarded by docker/build.sh)
- diagnostics.js: emit at console.log level (no longer error/warn); still
gated by SHIM_DIAGNOSTICS=1
- apply-asyncify.sh: exclude PCB_EDIT_FRAME::setupUIConditions() from
asyncify instrumentation (V8 cannot run the instrumented huge function
on the rewound ctor stack -> Chrome startup stall; Firefox unaffected)
- DEBUG.md: reusable WASM/asyncify/browser debugging guide, diagnostic
flag docs, and a production-build (release + -O2 asyncify) recipe
- tests: standalone coroutine vcall/gl repro probes
- bump kicad + wxwidgets submodules (diagnostic gating / debug cleanup)

The Docker build used emscripten/emsdk:4.0.2-arm64 as base image but
env.sh couldn't find emsdk there, installing a second copy. The build
then applied wasm-opt/finalize stubs to the wrong emsdk (hardcoded
/emsdk/), so the real wasm-emscripten-finalize ran in Docker and got
OOM-killed.
- Use ubuntu:22.04 base with emsdk installed from source at /emsdk/
- Make stub paths dynamic via $EMSDK instead of hardcoded /emsdk/
- Skip local emsdk install in env.sh when $EMSDK is already active

Migrate WebGL GAL implementation from tests/gal-regression/wasm/webgl/
to kicad/common/gal/webgl/ and kicad/include/gal/webgl/.
This integrates the WebGL GAL properly into KiCad's build system:
- Update test Makefile to use sources from kicad/ instead of local copies
- Update build scripts for new source locations
- Add test-gal-webgl.sh script for running WebGL regression tests
- Update Docker to Emscripten 4.0.22
The WebGL GAL passes all 28 regression tests (matching baseline).
