add7c60975 fix(ci): serialize the heavy 3D-viewer e2e specs (dedicated chromium-ci-3d project)
The three heavy 3D-viewer specs (3d-viewer, 3d-viewer-deadlock, 3d-viewer-models)
crashed on CI (run 28604015154): "Target crashed", "browser has been closed", and a
black frozen canvas. Each boots the 3D-enabled pcbnew build, which pre-warms
~hardwareConcurrency*2+8 (~68 on the 30-core VM) Web Workers AND runs a multi-threaded
CPU raytracer over SwiftShader software-WebGL. Under fullyParallel the three spec FILES
run in separate browser processes concurrently, and the simultaneous raytrace tabs
exhaust the shared GPU process's ~16 live-WebGL-context limit / renderer memory. The
pool pre-warm (the deadlock fix, 7630c7e) is correct and present in the tested binary;
per-file isolation prevented in-process Worker accumulation but NOT this cross-process
concurrency — the gap these specs' first CI exposure hit.

Fix (test-orchestration only; no wasm/submodule changes):
- Route the three specs to a dedicated `chromium-ci-3d` Playwright project (own
  outputDir=pw-artifacts/kicad-3d so its failure traces survive the later perf run's
  wipe; the existing tests/pw-artifacts/** upload already captures it).
- test:kicad:ci runs it as a SECOND `playwright test` pass with --workers=1, so at most
  one raytrace tab is alive at a time (the environment in which a single 3D load is
  reliably green — docs/features/3d-raytracer/README.md §7). An exit-code-aggregating
  sequencer runs both phases and fails if either fails (no silent skip of the 3D pass).
- Cap phase-1 CI workers to 12 as headroom under the WebGL-context cap.
- Log a resource-diagnostic snapshot (hardwareConcurrency, pthread pool, GL-canvas
  count, wasm/JS heap) before each 3D interaction so any recurrence is attributable.

2aa7657c64 test(3d): npm run 3d:review — triptychs/heatmaps for ALL pairs, not just changed
compare-dirs gains --artifacts changed|always: 'always' also writes the
side-by-side triptych + heatmap for pairs that PASS the floor (blue-grey
UNCHANGED caption), so a human can eyeball old-vs-new without a failing
gate. The gating scripts keep the default (empty diff dir = green);
3d:review writes the full 47-pair set to output/diff/parity-review/.

ce1473c9ab test(3d): screenshot-baseline TDD suite for the 3D viewer OpenGL->WebGL port — 47 native goldens + red-state WebGL harness
tests/3d-regression mirrors the gal-regression pattern at renderer scale:
shared C++ scenarios call real KiCad 3D-viewer code (opengl_utils, display
lists + DrawCulled stencil subtraction, MODEL_3D VBOs, private generators via
a rob-template accessor, and full reload()+Redraw() composites over a
synthetic BOARD_ADAPTER). A native macOS harness renders them on real OpenGL
into 47 committed goldens (bit-deterministic, FBO capture); the wasm harness
compiles the same TUs against wasm/stubs/gl_ffp_stub.c no-ops so every
scenario renders blank — the TDD red state (parity meter: 47/47 changed).
Comparisons use the CI pixelmatch engine via the new generic compare-dirs.ts
(floors.json levels; manifest.json cmp-guards registry drift).

Documents an upstream bug: appendPostMachiningGeometry's countersink path
adds middle quads without normals, silently erasing the walls of any
display list it is batched into (3d-post-machining.png keeps the lists
separate to record it).

13551f4f22 feat(tests): screenshot regression + Discord review, perf-tracked
New tooling in tests/tools/screenshots/ (TypeScript via tsx):
- compare.ts: one pixelmatch engine (AA-excluded), connected-component
  "where to look" boxes, old|new+boxes|heatmap triptych, per-engine floors.
- promote.ts: churn-free updater — overwrite a baseline only when decoded
  pixels differ beyond the floor, copying CI bytes verbatim (no re-encode
  churn); pulls a CI run via `gh run download` or a local --from dir.
- post-discord.ts: always-on CI-on-main report (SHA + e2e status + the
  track-only runtime-perf table), then screenshot triptychs, batched +
  size-capped + flood-collapsed + 429-aware.
- perf-report.ts: perf table with Δ vs the previous main run (via gh).
- changelog.ts: no-build git-history baseline differ (Discord trigger B).
- noise.ts / gen-manifest.ts: calibration + manifest generation.

CI wiring:
- wasm-build.yml: post-test step runs the gate + report on the already-
  produced test-results (no extra build); report-only (continue-on-error),
  posts only on push to main, inert without DISCORD_WEBHOOK_URL.
- ci-ubicloud.yml: secrets: inherit (pass the webhook through).
- screenshot-changelog.yml: ~30s no-build changelog on baseline changes.

screenshot-manifest.json: canonical 354-name set + best-effort engine tags
(313 chromium-swiftshader / 41 firefox-llvmpipe).

Normalize scale:'device'->'css' across 18 spec files (no-op at CI DSF=1)
so committed baselines are uniformly css-scaled.

Design: CI's Linux render is the single source of truth; no pinned
container (accept rare env drift -> re-promote); dev commits via promote.
Replaces the byte-cmp compare-screenshots.sh + file-size-proxy
update-baseline-screenshots.sh (kept for now until the first re-baseline).

3e5791774b test(perf): track-only runtime-perf E2E for eeschema + pcbnew
Measures the current build's cold load, open+render, and pan/zoom FPS
(1x/4x/6x CPU-throttle sweep) for both editors, writing
tests/test-results/perf-*.json. Track-only: asserts only that the app booted
and the document opened — no perf thresholds, so it never gates CI.

Runs on a new Chromium `perf` Playwright project (CDP throttling; pcbnew needs
V8 anyway) via `npm run test:perf`, and is wired into wasm-build.yml as a
continue-on-error step so the numbers are captured/uploaded without flaking the
gate. Reuses the existing fixtures, ready-signal, fs-inject, and board-ready
helpers; FPS counter is cancel-able so a throttle sweep on one page doesn't
accumulate rAF loops.

.gitignore: ignore /benchmark-builds/ (disposable prebuilt-WASM + standalone
harness bundle used to reproduce the native-vs-JS-EH comparison locally).

c1ef489cfa feat(wasm-eh): migrate the WASM build to native wasm exceptions (+ 3D viewer default-on)
Replace the legacy Emscripten JS-exceptions model with native wasm-EH (legacy
encoding) across the whole build, keeping Asyncify coroutines working via a
from-source Binaryen --hoist-cpp-catches pre-pass. Net result: native-EH is the
only build mode, the 3D viewer is on by default, and pcbnew shrinks substantially.

Highlights:
- Binaryen submodule everywhere + --hoist-cpp-catches integration in apply-asyncify;
  post-link Asyncify covers every app wasm (not just standalone test wasm).
- Build deps (incl. OpenCASCADE without OCC_CONVERT_SIGNALS) and all KiCad apps
  with -fwasm-exceptions; emscripten_sleep added to the post-link asyncify-imports.
- libcontext fiber entry wired under native exceptions; while-loop main loop +
  currData shim injected into all wx apps.
- Native-EH collab apply fixed: DEBUG-define the embind TU + match all out-of-CMake
  C++ TUs' ABI flags to the core, fixing the vtable-layout skew / mis-dispatch.
- 3D viewer enabled by default (real raytracer linked, not the stub).
- Retire the EH-spike scaffolding; flip the asyncify-races ablation pins to
  shim-redundancy pins (native-EH stays clean with the legacy shims ablated).
- Fix the asyncify-races quiescence check to not require Asyncify.currData==0:
  under the native-EH per-frame-yield top loop the main stack is asyncify-suspended
  every frame, so currData legitimately churns (a freed-but-not-yet-nulled buffer,
  not a leak). Refresh the pcbnew toolbar screenshot baseline for the new kicad.
- CI: drop the obsolete binaryen_version input/env (the build uses the binaryen
  submodule fork's wasm-opt, not a version download); key the wasm-output cache on
  the binaryen submodule SHA instead.

Bumps the wxwidgets + binaryen submodules to their squashed feature commits.

Validated green: all 7 apps native-EH (real 3D in pcbnew); KiCad e2e 63/63
Firefox + Chromium (3D viewer renders); wx 336; coroutine 34/34 both engines;
asyncify 7/7 both engines.

fa408c0c06 fix(wasm): bump wxwidgets for the wxMenuBar Detach() UAF fix
Submodule pointer bump for the wxMenuBar dangling-child fix that resolved the 18 DOM-port kicad e2e failures. Also adds the async-debug dossier (docs/features/async/08-10) root-causing the 'indirect call to null' / 'signature mismatch' family to the menu-bar use-after-free, and folds the asyncify harness into 'npm test' (new test:wx for wx-only); tests/README + WHATWORKS updated to match.

7dc1bf27e0 refactor: collapse dual-mode plumbing — the DOM port is the only WASM build
The canvas (wxUniversal) mode is gone (wxwidgets submodule); remove every
piece of side-by-side plumbing so there is exactly one build and one test
flow:

- scripts/build-wxuniversal-wasm.sh -> scripts/build-wx-wasm.sh; no
  --dom/--enable-universal; builds into build-wasm/wxwidgets
- build-wasm-test.sh: no DOM_BUILD / apps-dom rsync mirror / PORT=dom;
  apps build straight into tests/apps (Makefile.wasm PORT conditionals
  collapsed; wx.js + wx-dom.js always pre-js)
- docker/build.sh, build-kicad-target.sh, env.sh: WX_PORT / -dom /
  -universal suffixes removed; kicad builds to kicad-<app>, outputs to
  output/; wx.js/wx-dom.js copied from the real source path
  (/workspace/wxwidgets/build/wasm — the old build-wasm path never
  existed and silently failed)
- setup-kicad-wasm.sh: single target dir; the perl wx-dom.js injection is
  gone — the 7 checked-in kicad pages now reference wx-dom.js directly
- playwright configs serve apps/; fixtures drop the test-results/dom and
  logs/wxwidgets/dom namespacing; boot.spec asserts wxDomPort
  unconditionally; pcbnew.spec uses one reference image;
  appearance.spec assertions unconditional
- compare/update-baseline-screenshots.sh: --port removed
- tests/gal-regression/wasm/Makefile: links build-wasm/wxwidgets and
  carries wx-dom.js as a second pre-js — the gal-webgl suite (30 specs)
  now actually builds and runs here (it needed host-side boost+glm via
  scripts/deps; the bundle had been missing, timing the whole spec out)
- tests: clickCanvas() dispatches via page.mouse (DOM widgets
  legitimately cover the canvas; locator actionability refused the
  click); the comprehensive spec drives wxChoice through its native
  <select> (browser-owned popup cannot be coordinate-clicked)
- docs: README/CLAUDE.md/build.md script names and dirs;
  features/wx-dom-port README reframed (DOM is THE port), visual-notes
  bugs 26-28; FindwxWidgets.cmake config label drops 'wasmuniv'
- wxwidgets submodule -> 9dbacc9448 (DOM-only port, fork diff shrunk)

Gate: full wx e2e suite 292 passed / 1 skipped / 0 failed — first run
ever with the gal-webgl specs green (28 scenarios + load + sequential).

a275ca735f fix(wasm-dom): serve:dom script; keep kicad bundles out of the apps-dom mirror
The wx test-app mirror (build-wasm-test.sh --dom, rsync --delete) wiped
the kicad bundles setup-kicad-wasm.sh syncs into apps-dom/kicad —
apps/kicad only carries the checked-in HTML. Exclude kicad/ (that dir is
owned by the setup script). Add 'npm run serve:dom' for browsing the
DOM-port apps; plain 'npm run serve' serves the canvas dir, which has no
kicad bundles in this worktree (canvas KiCad was never built here).

14ca16cbd3 test(asyncify): red-green race harness + ablation flags, unwind-catch shim, spec tightening, decisions docs
The asyncify single-slot work, executed red-green (full ledger:
docs/features/asyncify-arbiter/redgreen.md; decisions record:
docs/features/async/07-decisions-and-outcome.md):

- tests/apps/standalone/asyncify-races/ + tests/asyncify/ + dedicated
  playwright config: 8 scenarios reproducing the KiCad asyncify failure
  family with the kicad-faithful startup topology (pre-park fiber swap →
  park throw through the live trampoline). Built in 3 variants; the
  SHIM_DISABLE_TRAMPOLINE_HEAL / SHIM_DISABLE_HANDLESLEEP ablation builds
  keep the historical hang and index-out-of-bounds crash reproducible
  forever (mutation-style pins for the existing shims).
- scripts/common/shims/handlesleep.js: catch the "unwind" park sentinel
  in the wakeUp path — when main's last pre-park suspension was a sleep,
  the main-loop park throw escaped through that sleep's promise reaction
  as an uncaught rejection (the calculator/gerbview console errors).
- scripts/common/inject-dyncall-shims.sh: SHIM_DISABLE_* ablation knobs.
- Spec tightening (the acceptance bar): 'uncaught exception: unwind'
  tolerance DELETED from pcbnew/eeschema specs; load-pcb gained a hard
  clean-console gate over 5 asyncify corruption signatures.
- wxwidgets pointer bump: modal LIFO resolvers, pump resolve-on-error,
  sync clipboard IsSupported (014f67e6c1).

Final state: asyncify suite 7/7, wx e2e 291/292 (1 skip), KiCad e2e 40
passed / 2 skipped with ZERO corruption signatures in any log across all
six apps.

e913bebdeb fix(e2e): route pcbnew-family specs to bundled Chromium on CI
The xvfb/WebGL fix (f37ddc4) took CI from 22 to 11 failures (identical on
Hetzner 27343415331 and Ubicloud 27343416511) — everything left is the
pcbnew family, still dying at wasm compile: pcbnew's ~190M debug module
exceeds SpiderMonkey's per-process code budget on x86-64 even with the
baseline-only JIT (the same module compiles on arm64, whose denser code
fits — which is why the local arm64 repro passed). No pref raises that
limit; V8 handles the module fine.

New CI-only 'chromium-ci' project (bundled Chromium, headless, SwiftShader
via --enable-unsafe-swiftshader) carries pcbnew/pcbnew-collab/load-pcb/
load-pcb-probe; the firefox project ignores them on CI. Workflows call the
new test:kicad:ci script which runs both projects. Local test:kicad is
unchanged (firefox everywhere, system Chrome for headed runs).

Validated under x86 emulation (linux/amd64 playwright image on Rosetta):
the pcbnew wizard test passes on chromium-ci in 23s against the fresh
v130-postprocessed 192M module.

feat(pl_editor): Yjs collaborative bridge — differ/apply + generic reconciler (yjs-bridge commit 2)
Bidirectional bridge between pl_editor's DS_DATA_MODEL and a Yjs doc, two same-origin
tabs syncing over BroadcastChannel. Full architecture in features/yjs-bridge/0001-0002.

C++ (wasm layer, wasm/bindings/pl_editor_embind.cpp — public DS_DATA_MODEL API only,
zero added fork divergence beyond the OnModify hook):
- snapshot-differ ChangeSource: diff model vs last-emitted snapshot on OnModify,
  emit per-item delta JSON via EM_ASM window.kicadCollab.onDelta
- kicadCollabApply(json): apply remote delta by uuid — scalars (text/segment/rect)
  by field, polygon/bitmap via SetPageLayout-append blob; reseed snapshot + HardRedraw
- kicadCollabSnapshot() (seed/baseline), s_applyingRemote echo guard, and a
  kicadCollabTestAddText() PoC local-edit hook
- wire format: {added:[item],changed:[item],removed:[uuid]}, item = {id,type,...fields}

JS (web/apps/frontend/src/wasm/collab/, generic + schema-agnostic):
- reconciler: uuid-keyed Y.Map of per-item Y.Map; down = onDelta→Y, up = observe→apply,
  origin-tagged echo suppression; seed-once join adopts the doc authoritatively
- broadcast-transport: minimal BroadcastChannel Yjs provider (query/state catch-up)
- WasmTool wiring behind ?collab=1 (pl_editor only); gated debug logging

Tests: tests/kicad/pl_editor-collab.spec.ts — single-page C++ contract (snapshot/apply
changed+removed+added/echo-suppression) + two-tab BroadcastChannel A<->B propagation.
Reconciler+yjs bundled via esbuild (tests/collab/build.mjs, npm run build:collab).

test(e2e): web-app tool open-path suite + pl_editor open/wizard-skip
Add an e2e suite that drives the real React web app (not the standalone
harness): tests/playwright-web.config.ts + tests/web/tools-open.spec.ts navigate
/p/demo/<tool>/<file> for all five tools and assert each boots, opens its demo
file (title drops "untitled"), shows no first-run wizard, and emits no WASM abort
or URL-regex modal. global-setup-web.ts re-seeds the demo project through the API
if missing, so the suite is self-sufficient against a running dev stack. Wired as
`npm run test:web`.

Also at the harness level:
- pl_editor-load.spec.ts: prove the pl_editor kicadOpenFile embind hook opens a
  .kicad_wks (mirrors eeschema-load.spec.ts).
- seed KiCad config in pl_editor.html / symbol_editor.html (matching eeschema.html
  and the web app's boot.ts) so the harness boots wizard-free; repurpose
  pl_editor.spec.ts's stale "wizard completes" test into a wizard-skip regression.

refactor(build): fold calculator into unified docker/build.sh dispatch
Convert the calculator port (commit 0464470) from the parallel/copy-paste
pattern to the dispatch pattern used by pcbnew + eeschema.

- docker/build.sh: <app> is now required (no pcbnew default); missing,
  unknown, and --help paths all print "pcbnew | eeschema | calculator | all".
  Adds calculator to build_app() via kicad_subdir_for() (pcb_calculator
  inner subdir, calculator.* output basename). Also fixes the
  EMSDK=/emsdkkicad-wasm-builder typo that snuck in during the calc merge.
- scripts/kicad/build-kicad-target.sh: accepts calculator; introduces
  KICAD_TARGET (pcb_calculator for calc, == APP_NAME otherwise) used for
  the make target, embind include path, and final-log line.
- scripts/kicad/build-calculator.sh: 305-line copy of build-pcbnew.sh
  collapsed to a 7-line wrapper around build-kicad-target.sh.
- tests/scripts/setup-kicad-wasm.sh: copy_app calculator added with the
  same pcb_calculator subdir mapping for the docker-volume fallback path.
- tests/package.json: test:calculator* routed through the shared
  playwright-kicad.config.ts kicad/calculator.spec.ts (mirrors eeschema).
- Delete: docker/build-calculator.sh, tests/scripts/setup-calculator-wasm.sh,
  tests/playwright-calculator.config.ts.

Bumps wxwidgets d1d1627 -> 6fb2eac (origin/wasm-port). The new sha includes
"unic/combobox: add GetCurrentSelection() inline default" which calc's
kicad/pcb_calculator/widgets/unit_selector.cpp needs to compile. Without
this bump the unified dispatch would expose calc as a buildable target but
the build itself would fail. Verified: build.sh all completes clean across
all three apps; pcbnew/eeschema e2e pass; calc compiles and launches (test
stability separate from this refactor).

01dce40dc9 test(wasm): coroutine crash reproduction harness + per-engine runner
Investigation scaffolding for the Chrome-only KiCad coroutine renderer crash.
Adds isolated reproduction probes exercising the coroutine/Asyncify/fiber layer
under KiCad-like conditions, runnable in BOTH Firefox and system Chrome.

- tests/playwright-coroutine.config.ts + test:coroutine:firefox|chrome npm
  scripts: run the coroutine specs in Firefox AND system Chrome (the old e2e
  config only used bundled Chromium, which never reproduced the crash).
- tests/apps/standalone/coroutine-pthread/: no-wx + pthreads reproduction probes
  (fiber-in-main, nested invoke_/dynCall boundaries, RunMainStack, embind,
  main-loop/rAF activation) + worker_dom_stub.js for wx+pthreads builds.
- tests/apps/Makefile.wasm: coroutine-pthread{,-main,-nested,-nested-ex,-wx,
  -embind,-mainloop} targets.
- scripts/common/shims/diagnostics.js: add EM_ASYNC_JS handleSleep enter/wake
  tracking (DIAG_SLEEP) to detect nested-async at the crash.

Findings (details in research notes): every isolated factor so far — direct /
nested / RunMainStack fiber, wx event loop + all 13 scenarios incl EM_ASYNC_JS,
pthreads, and main-loop/rAF activation — runs CLEAN in system Chrome. The
coroutine/Asyncify layer is exonerated; GL/WebGL is the remaining untested factor
(next). The reliable FF-pass/Chrome-fail repro is still the KiCad pcbnew e2e.

a4ad69412e fix(wasm): bind dynCall_* to real DYNCALLS=1 exports; refactor shim into files
The shim bound bare dynCall_* names to JS getWasmTableEntry() calls, bypassing
the asyncify-instrumented dynCall_* wasm trampolines that -sDYNCALLS=1 provides.
That broke Asyncify unwind/rewind through indirect calls -> "indirect call
signature mismatch" (caught every frame in Firefox; fatal renderer crash in
Chrome). Bind the bare names to wasmExports["dynCall_<sig>"] instead.

Result: the PCBnew "select draw lines" e2e is green in Firefox (tool selects and
draws, zero page errors). Dropped the fiber-stabilization block, the shipped
diagnostic block, and the exportCallStack JS hack (all compensated for the wrong
binding); shim shrank 521 -> ~250 lines.

- scripts/common/inject-dyncall-shims.sh: orchestrator only; injected JS extracted
  to scripts/common/shims/
- scripts/common/shims/dyncall-binding.js.tmpl: per-signature binding template
- scripts/common/shims/handlesleep.js: nested-Asyncify handleSleep fix (#9153)
- scripts/common/shims/diagnostics.js: logging-only, opt-in via SHIM_DIAGNOSTICS=1
- tests/package.json: add test:kicad:firefox / test:kicad:chrome scripts

Known issue (tracked separately): Chrome still renderer-crashes on the first
coroutine resume. Asyncify.doRewind replays the deep main-context call stack and
exceeds V8's execution-stack limit (Firefox tolerates the same wasm). Proper fix
is JSPI.

Chrome headless crashes on ARM Mac due to a known Chromium bug where
SwiftShader WebGL is disabled on ARM architecture (issues #1416283,
#338414704). Firefox headless works reliably using native Metal.

Changes:
- Use Firefox as default for npm run test:kicad (headless)
- Use Chrome with --headed flag for npm run test:kicad:headed
- Add viewport size and increase timeout for KiCad WASM
- Simplify pcbnew.spec.ts test assertions

- Move lib/gl_immediate_shim.js to wasm/shims/ (consolidates WASM files)
- Delete docs/ directory (outdated Nov 2024 research docs)
- Delete patches/ directory (already applied to fork submodules)
- Delete wasm/patches/ and wasm/config/ (empty/unused)
- Update all file references in scripts, configs, and documentation
